Minibridge classes are already running at Troon Primary, Annbank Primary, Forehill Primary and Wellington Primary with a new class starting in Struthers Primary in the Autumn.
The children enjoy the challenge of a new game and benefit from new skills. A study commissioned by the EBU (English Bridge Union) at St Paul’s School in Manchester showed that bridge and Minibridge taught skills in numeracy, problem solving, probability, speaking, listening, rule following, team building, mental capacity and much more.
All of the Minibridge leaders are members of the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme which is operated and monitored by Disclosure Scotland.
If you are interested in starting up classes at your local school please contact Margaret Boyd for more information.
Ayrshire Juniors meet in the Ayrshire Bridge Centre on a Thursday at 3:30pm during term time and 1:30 during school holidays. The Junior leaders, Maureen and Gordon, are members of the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme which is operated and monitored by Disclosure Scotland.
All school age children from P7 upwards are welcome at the Junior club and though some of our children have previously played MiniBridge in Primary school we teach from scratch so lack of experience should not be a deterrent. Just come along and introduce yourself. Alternatively. contact Maureen Rennie for more information
